How to install Crysis Wars (online)
1- Get the PROCYON release if you don't already have it.

2- Grab the v1.4 full patch (348.2 MB) Mycrisis - FilePlanet - GamersHell

3- Install game using any random numbers/letters for cd-key,
Install the full v1.4 patch.
No further crack/fix needed to play!
Update your Punkbuster with pbsetup.exe.

4- Open the game and go to Multiplayer --> internet [Its going to ask you for a CD key - put whatever you want in there]
In the top right corner, click 'Create an Account' and create an online account. Exit game.

How to configure with QTracker:
Crysis Wars isn't supported in the public version of Qtracker.
You will need to configure Qtracker to support cracked serverlists:

1- Open Qtracker.

2- Add Crysis to Qtracker:
Left click on "View" --> select "Settings" --> "Games" --> "Installed" --> select Crysis.
[but don't configure the exe/directory locations yet] Click Apply, then OK.

3- In the games&folders pane, right click Crysis.
Select "new" -> "folder" and name it "Crysis Wars Cracked Servers".
Right click your newly created folder -> select 'properties'.
Click the browse button for "Application used to play game" and browse to and open "Crysis.exe" [in either bin32 or bin64 folder]
[Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis Wars\Bin32\Crysis.exe]
Game directory will be set automatically.
Click Apply, then OK.

4- Enable Auto-Logon in Qtracker:
Left click on "View" --> select "Settings" --> "Games" --> "Auto-Login"
Double left click either Crysis --> set "Enable Auto-Login" = "True" --> set "Account Name" = "" --> "Password" = "" --> click apply then OK.

To add a cracked serverlist to Qtracker:
To add a single server:
Right click on the "cracked servers" folder you created --> select "New" --> "Server", enter the server IP to add it to your list.

To import a server.txt file:
1- Download qtracker serverlists
2- Right click the "cracked server" folder for your game --> select "Import servers into this folder" and browse to the private server .txt file that you downloaded. Click open. Press F5 to refresh the list and wait a moment.

Crysis Warhead doesn't have multiplayer?

Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is the executive editor-in-chief of a book publishing company, Colden Books, who forces her assistant Andrew Paxton (Ryan Reynolds) to marry her in order to avoid being deported to Canada. He grudgingly accepts, under the condition that he is promoted to the position of editor. When the government investigates, the two are forced to spend the weekend with his parents in Alaska in order to sell the lie. The family suggest they could marry the same weekend, and they reluctantly accept. They start to fall genuinely in love as they spend more and more time together. Because of this, during the wedding ceremony, Margaret decides she cannot do this to Andrew and confesses the business arrangement in front of everyone--including the immigration officer handling their case. She is then told that she has 24 hours to get back to Canada, and thus goes back to New York to pack her things. Upon doing so, however, Andrew shows up at the office and confesses his love for her in front of the entire office staff, proposing marriage all over again. [D-Man2010]

Burnout Paradise (formerly known as Burnout 6) by Criterion Games is the
seventh game in the Burnout video game series. It was released in January
2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It was also released on the PlayStation
Store in September 2008 and will be available on Microsoft Windows from
February 2009. It has an open world set in the fictional Paradise City, with
no loading times and no traditional online lobbies or game menus. The song
"Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses is the game's title music and also featured
on the in-game soundtrack

Description:Need For Speed:Porsche Unleashed is different from the previous versions because it featured only Porsches and featured a wealth of information regarding them. The vehicle handling is considered the most realistic in any NFS game, and there is an in-depth catalogue of different Porsche parts that span throughout the years.
The player had to win races in the Evolution mode to unlock cars in chronological order from 1950 to 2000. Porsche Unleashed also featured a Factory Driver mode, where the player had to test Porsches with various stunts and move on with his career. is also the first in the series since the first NFS game to not feature a split screen mode. However, the game did contain a well constructed LAN multiplayer feature.In later years, it was released for the Game Boy Advance.

In terms of game construction, it is most often hailed as Need For Speed's best collaborated effort to bring forth one singular car brand and amplify and deepen the depth of knowledge both on history and motor functions. It features historical many pictures of old photos of Porsche vehicles. The Evolution concept was a hit for many people, many new Porsche fans due to the game's academia and depth of Porsche cars. The Factory Driver was also a different kind of unlocking, except to do with performing and excelling in certain slaloms, speed races, deliveries, etc. Many of the missions were considered to be really difficult. In addition, the graphics of the game were relatively impressive for the game was released.

It can't be easy to be a game developer in charge of releasing a new game in a series every year. People don't want the same game over and over, yet they're unhappy if the game strays too far from the established formula. EA deserves credit for trying something different with Need for Speed ProStreet, but the new direction of the series fails to live up to the level of the previous games. There's still a solid racing experience here, and the online component of the PC version is quite good. But the game's premise is uninteresting, the in-game advertising is over the top, and it doesn't run particularly well. In the end, ProStreet is just another decent but uninspired racing game.

Unlike the last two Need for Speed games, which told the story of an underground street racer through campy yet entertaining cutscenes, ProStreet follows the legal street racing career of Ryan Cooper. The game still uses cutscenes to try to instill some story into the proceedings--something about Ryan getting dissed by a big-time street racer--but it's uninteresting thanks to terrible voice acting and unlikable characters. Ignoring the story, it's your goal to head to different events, dominate them, challenge the best of the best, and then take on Ryo, the man who disrespected you after your first race.

Thanks to the sheer number of race days you'll need to win, it will take a long time to get to Ryo. Each race day consists of a number of different events. Most of these will be familiar to anyone who's played previous Need for Speed games. Grip races are standard races with eight cars on the track, and your goal is to finish first. Other events have you trying to get the fastest time or highest speed through checkpoints, or the best time out of your class of cars. Drift racing is back, but has been revamped and is actually fun this time around since you don't lose all your points for going off the track. You'll also be doing a lot of drag racing. It's fun for a bit, but gets old quickly thanks in no small part to the preceding minigame in which you have to heat up your tires; it's lame, and you have to do it before each of the three rounds. While there's no shortage of events, there isn't a whole lot of variety. Many of them feel the same--you just want to go fast. This makes the game grow old quickly, a problem when there are so many events to slog through before you reach the end.

The game also grows tiresome because the action on the track just isn't that exciting. Some of the later cars you unlock, like the Lamborghini and Zonda, are superfast, but for the first 50 races you'll be racing some rather pedestrian vehicles. Since you're on a track there are no shortcuts, so many of the courses end up feeling the same, especially since a "new" course is just an old one with a few different turns. Most importantly, there are no cops. Getting chased by the five-0 was easily the best part of the last few games, so its omission here is huge. Damage plays a more pronounced role this time around; you'll have to repair damaged cars, but you always have enough damage-repair markers to take care of things. We encountered a fair amount of lag when we used a controller with the game, which made car damage a more significant factor with the PC version.

Need for Speed ProStreet boasts impeccable precision and impressively detailed photo-realistic graphics, effectively transporting you to the center of the action. EA's long-running Need for Speed series took a trip underground a couple of years back when the developer refocused the game solely on illegal street racing. While the nighttime racing series was certainly successful, the lawless world was always missing one key factor: cops. This year's installment crawls back into the daylight. The actual racing hasn't changed too much, but the ever-present police make this game a whole lot more interesting.

The game's career mode starts out with a hilarious bang. You take on the role of a nameless, faceless new racer attempting to hit the scene in the city of Rockport. An underground ranking known as the Blacklist governs who can race who, and when. You almost immediately run into a punk named Razor, who's definitely the sort of dude that lives his life a quarter-mile at a time. He's at the bottom of the list, but a few races later, he's sabotaged your ride and has won it from you in a race. Meanwhile, you're carted off to jail. Left with nothing but some mysterious help from a stranger named Mia, your task is to get back in the race game to work your way to the top of the Blacklist, which is now topped by Razor, who's using your old car to wipe out the competition.

Working your way up the Blacklist is a multistep progress. Before you can challenge the next Blacklist racer, you have to satisfy a list of requirements. You'll have to win a set number of race events. And you'll have to reach a set number of pursuit milestones and earn enough bounty by riling up the police. The cops hate street racers and will give chase when they see you rolling around the open city. You can also just jump right into a pursuit from a menu, too.

Running from the cops is the best action the game has to offer. Chases usually start with just one car on your tail. But as you resist, you might find 20 cars giving chase, in addition to a chopper flying overhead. Losing the cops gets tougher as your heat level rises. Level one heat results in the appearance of just your standard squad cars. But by the time you get up to level five, you'll be dealing with roadblocks, spike strips, helicopters, and federal-driven Corvettes. A meter at the bottom of the screen indicates how close you are to losing the cops or getting busted. Stopping your car--or having it stopped for you by spike strips or getting completely boxed in by cops--is how you'll get busted. To actually get away, you'll need to get out of visual range...and stay there. The initial evasion changes the meter over to a cooldown meter. You'll have to lie low and wait for that meter to fill up to end the chase. This is probably the tensest part of the entire chase, since you never know when two cops might blow around the corner and spot you, starting the whole process over again. It all sort of works like some sort of strange, wonderful cross between Grand Theft Auto's open city and Metal Gear Solid's stealth mechanic. All the while, you'll be acquiring heat on your car. This means that you'll have to keep a couple of cars around, because acquiring heat on one car lowers the heat on your other ones. Also, getting busted too many times can result in your car getting impounded, though you can avoid that by resetting the system whenever you get caught (if that's more your speed).

SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm is an expansion pack for SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars.

Everybody loves a dragon. Sure, they’re big, they’re smelly, and they have a nasty tendency to burn holes in the couch when they drool, but we always seem to forgive them when they stare at us with those big, brown, eyes. Shortly before devouring us alive, admittedly, but still - they’re the puppy of the lizard kingdom. They’re also the major draw card for Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm, the expansion pack to Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars, released early last year.

Relatively speaking, Spellforce 2 : Shadow Wars didn’t get a lot of coverage in Australia. It was apparently quite popular in Europe, much like Spinal Tap. The lack of coverage, to be blunt, is quite a pity - the game pushed genre boundaries by combining RTS and RPG elements into a single experience. While that may instantly scream “below-par experience!”, the game was better than it deserved to be. The RPG elements, while nowhere near the complexity or depth of what Oblivion had to offer, were still about as good as any of the other action-RPG games out there. Better than many, even (Dungeon Siege, I’m looking at you). The RTS elements, while somewhat simplistic with limited tech trees and troop combinations, were also good enough to stand on their own. Overall, it really was a game that quite effectively skirted the potential chasm that always awaits these genre-crossing games.

On the other hand, it was also plagued by extremely bad camera angles, phenomenally cheesy voice acting, and bad AI. While they did get points for delivering almost all cut scenes using the in-game engine, I lost count of the number of times I watched a talking house for five minutes because the camera focused on the wrong element. That and watching your battalion of mounted horsemen get slaughtered one by one by a single enemy orc because they’re too dumb to act independently is ... shall we say ... somewhat frustrating.

In the gaming world it is a rarity to find a expansion game that seems better than the original. Spellforce 2: Dragon Strom is such a rare game.

Compared with the original spellforce 2 theres not much difference in terms of graphics, AI or game play. But there seems to be a general focus on adventure this time around compared with the original which had more focus on statergic gameplay. As always the games ability to blend both statergy and Adventure at the same time is a huge plus point for me. And in dragon storm the blend seems to be just right.

The addition of new abilities, weapons and locations to the game will make this game interesting for both newcomers to the series and for those who are familiar with it.

The expansion gives you access to exactly the same skill tree, but extends it with a new “Shaikan” category, kind-of a warrior mage. You can now summon companions that assist in battle in various ways (such as attracting damage or causing party damage) and have access to a new variety of spells (most of which focus on absorbing energy from your enemies and boosting your party).

Soldier of Fortune Payback is the long-awaited third installment of the Soldier of fortune video game series. The saga continues with the organization know as The Shop where players take on the role of a hired mercenary. Players will experience all the thrills and dangers of authentic mercenary combat blasting their way through high intensity combat situations in the world's most dangerous hotspots in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. Using any means necessary, players will need to uncover a complex plot and defeat an extremist organization determined to throw the world into global conflict. Failure is not an option.

However, it all goes downhill quickly because Payback reveals itself to be a relentlessly linear and highly scripted shooter with a lot of flaws. Perhaps the most frustrating of these deals with the fact that the game relies on a checkpoint save system with no ability to quicksave, which means that if you're killed, you have to restart from the last checkpoint. That wouldn't be so much of an issue if those checkpoints were frequent and numerous, but they're not. Thus, much of the game's six to eight hours of gameplay is spent trying and retrying to get through the many sections of the game. Though there's a regenerating health system, you still die all too easily. It's not uncommon to have to replay a section a dozen times or more before you finally beat it.

Additionally, Payback's multiplayer is very generic, with such modes as deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the flag. There's a whopping five multiplayer maps total, so there's not a lot of variety there either, which is also disappointing, considering Soldier of Fortune II's popular and fun multiplayer mode.

SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars
SpellForce 2's intriguing mix of gameplay styles makes for a great divergence from the archetypal real-time strategy game.

In Shadow Wars, the dark elves are on the offensive, and it's up to you, as a member of an outcast human/dragon race, to rally the various "good" nations to meet the threat. But since no one trusts you, you must pursue a ton of quests to gain their trust, as well as deal with various evildoers and monsters along the way. In fact, there's so much of this questing going on that it won't be too long before you realize that for a real-time strategy game, SpellForce 2 seems a lot like Diablo and other role-playing games. The variety of quests is also impressive, since they don't feel like the generic FedEx-style quests (go to point X and bring back item Y). Actually, most of them are, but you'll experience so many different challenges that it never quite feels like the same thing over and over again.

Like any good role-playing game, SpellForce 2 inspires a strong sense of satisfaction as you see your hero level up and get new weapons and armor, as well as unlock new powers and abilities. SpellForce 2 features a new skill system that lets you distribute points across two skill trees, one based on magic and the other on combat, and you can put points into each skill up to a max of three times, so you have some leeway as to what kind of character to create. You can be part magic user and part warrior, or dump all your points into either skill tree. Moreover, you can specialize even further by focusing on being able to use heavy weapons or armor, or perhaps lighter arms. Speaking of which, there's a huge variety of stuff in the game, and thankfully, there seems to be no effective limit on your inventory, so you can be a pack rat and carry everything along with you. The only thing is that, in the frenetic combat that makes up most of the game, you're dealing with such huge numbers (your character will easily have thousands of hit points), that it doesn't seem to make much of a difference if you use a weapon that does 130 points of damage or another one that does 160. Weapons and armor seem to be there mostly for cosmetic purposes, since it's hard to tell the difference between weapons that fall into the same level class.

When you're not hacking and slashing your way across the map, you will have the opportunity on occasion to do some real-time strategy management. Thankfully, the complex economy from the original SpellForce feels like it's been streamlined, so it's just a matter of setting some workers to gather the three main resources, put up a handful of buildings, and start churning out various military units to beef up your heroes. Command and control of all these different units is easy thanks to the slick interface. While you can use regular real-time strategy conventions to create unit groups, SpellForce 2 goes a bit further by letting you easily designate targets for various groups or telling a hero to unload a particular spell or skill on a specific target with just a couple of mouse clicks.

Stronghold Legends
The actual gameplay in Stronghold has little to do with the earlier games in the franchise. Here, instead of building a castle and getting knee-deep into the nitty-gritty of what it was like to live during the Middle Ages, you sign up for three campaigns out of medieval mythology. In the opener, you take on the role of King Arthur, battling against the Saxons for control of Britain. In the others, you play as Siegfried, the German dragon slayer and star of a Wagnerian opera, and Vlad the Impaler, the Transylvanian Turk-killer best known today as the bloody inspiration for Dracula.

But nothing of interest has been done to develop these storylines or settings. Buildings follow the RTS template and feature barracks, armories, granaries, and so forth. Resource gathering goes beyond the usual food, wood, and stone, but it does so by adding an annoying level of micromanagement to what should be a straightforward grind of building armies and attacking the bad guys. A game this simplistic probably shouldn't demand the collection and processing of any resources, as mission objectives always involve straightforward building armies and killing enemies.

All of the soldiers featured in each faction are virtually identical. There is little difference here whether you're fighting on behalf of the evil forces of Dracula or the noble knights of King Arthur. Also, since the units themselves are generic, the gee-whiz factor of getting to play Count Blah and his evil minions in an RTS fades quickly. You get little aside from the same old pikemen, archers, crossbowmen, and swordsmen. There is only so much that a developer can do with a medieval setting, of course, but no effort was made to provide significantly different troops to represent the nationalities and time periods represented. A millennium passed between the King Arthur campaign of the mid-400s and the Vlad campaign of the mid-15th century. You would think that more than the color of the shirts would have changed during that time.

Civilization IV + Addons
This is my first go on the series although I am a strategy fan. Having been mostly addicted to the RTS genre, I was not convinced with a turn based strategy given the level of graphics and gameplay that has been developed. I was so fantastically surprised. A beautiful game which looks fantastic and you realise that you are in for a high-quality game as soon as the title music begins. The game takes you through the tutorials nicely and the ramp-up of difficulty is just about right, although it starts to get very frustrating in the higher levels of difficulty but you can't blame the developers for that. The tech tree associated with this game makes sense and it is nicely fresh to be able to win not only by a rout but also by cultural, space age and score as well. Graphically, the game looks as good as any and the sounds compliment the game perfectly, particularly when you are zooming in on the action to hear the natural sounds of the appropriate environment. Highly recommended!

Sins of a Solar Empire
Sins is a game of interstellar conquest featuring three different factions, though you can have up to 10 players, both human and computer-controlled, in a game. The scale of the game can vary from three planets, which is designed to last under an hour, to multiple star systems filled with a dozen planets each. That size of game "could take months," according to Stardock president Brad Wardell. Like many turn-based space strategy games, you start Sins with control of a single planet, and your goal is to explore space and expand by colonizing newly discovered worlds, exploiting the resources on those planets to build larger fleets, and using those fleets to exterminate your enemies. However, the difference is that this process happens in real time, so the game is constantly flowing.

Travel between planets is done by phase jumping, which is sort of like warp speed in Star Trek. However, there are some things to keep in mind. First, ships have to travel outside the gravity well of a planet in order to jump; that prevents you from building ships at your shipyard and immediately warping them to a battle. It also prevents you from warping next to an enemy planet and bombing it; you have to arrive at the edge of its gravity well and fight your way past its defenses. The other thing about phase jumps is that jump drives take time to charge, which means that a ship is a sitting duck in the meantime. Keep that in mind if you're in a battle and have to retreat, because you'll likely take losses as your ships prepare to jump. Likewise, travel is restricted along the space lanes that connect planets. So if you're at Planet A and want to get to Planet C, you first have to go through Planet B. This is for gameplay purposes, given that the ability to go from one planet to any other in a solar system would make the game far too easy; all you'd have to do is aim for the enemy's homeworld and take it out.

Star Wars: Empire at War
Star Wars fans finally get to play a strategy game worthy of the license.

The Star Wars franchise has seen its share of great action games, role-playing games, and space-combat simulators, but the strategy genre is something that, for some reason, has proved elusive for LucasArts to truly capture. The efforts to date, including Rebellion, Force Commander, and Galactic Battlegrounds, have ranged from poor to pretty good. Petroglyph's Empire at War is the game that's finally gotten the formula down just right. In Empire at War, the action takes place both in outer space and on the surface of planets, but the interconnection of the two is one of many important strategic aspects that you'll consider as you make your way through the campaign and galactic conquest scenarios. Logical differences in the optimal playing style between the Empire and Rebellion, as well as an epic presentation befitting of the license, contribute to a fantastic overall package that any strategy-game player can appreciate, whether you have a stormtrooper outfit in your closet or you just have a passing familiarity with the films.

The tactical-combat layer comes into play when the two factions meet on a planet. If two space fleets meet up, a space battle ensues. The game gives the defender some advantage in that any existing space station in orbit over a planet, as well as planetary defenses like ion cannons or hypervelocity cannons, can contribute to the battle, along with whatever fleet happens to be around. The higher-level space stations are fearsome indeed, with multiple laser and torpedo batteries, as well as its own small navy to harass attacking capital ships. The space-combat battles look great--the sense of scale between the huge Imperial capital ships and the smaller Rebel gunships and corvettes is plainly obvious. Fighters like TIEs and X-Wings buzz around the larger ships like gnats on an elephant. If you've got the graphics options turned up, the explosions look fabulous, with electrical fields shimmering around a ship disabled by ion cannons, and downed capital ships breaking apart into large pieces while falling slowly out of space. You'll also see distortion effects around exploding hardpoints, which brings up another interesting aspect of space combat in Empire at War. The space stations and capital ships all have hardpoints pertaining to different systems, such as shield generators and weapon systems. You can target individual systems to cripple larger ships in specific ways. Getting rid of the hangar on Imperial capital ships will thin out the fighter cover, while targeting engines can slow down ships. In most cases, the order in which you want to take out hardpoints is obvious, but ships that have special features, like the gravity well on the Interdictor cruiser, add even more tactical considerations. If you don't remove that gravity-well generator, for example, you can't retreat out of a system and save some of your fleet.

Seven Kingdoms Conquest
In recent years, real-time strategy games have really tried to get away from the basic formula of collecting resources, building a base, hiring an army, and crushing your enemies. And strategy developer Infinite Interactive is planning to take a similar approach with Seven Kingdoms: Conquest, the next game in what many strategy fans consider to be a very highly underrated series. Lead designer Steve Fawkner explains what we can expect from this upcoming strategy sequel.

Some of the things that impressed me with the original Seven Kingdoms games were all the new ideas that found their way in there. That's one of the reasons that we have called this "Seven Kingdoms: Conquest" rather than "Seven Kingdoms III"--it is definitely a child of the Seven Kingdoms franchise, but it's not a clone of what has gone before. It's got its own definite identity.

However, having completed three real-time strategy titles now, and with more than 15 years of working on strategy games in general, we are able to bring a lot of important experience to help us with Conquest. For example, our general game design principal involves the AI programmer from day one. He gets an automatic veto over any feature in the game that he thinks will cause trouble (so in some ways he's the boss!). If any feature breaks the AI (and therefore the single-player experience), he just has to raise his hand and we immediately look for another way to provide a similar play experience. We've found that this is one of the secrets behind our powerful AIs.

Stranger
This real-time strategy game brings you to the dark and light sides of a fantasy world and features a wide variety of characters.

Developers Fireglow Software have come up with something quite surprising in their magic and fantasy PC title Stranger. It has what I would consider to be found less and less of late, something often overlooked in place of (fair enough) gameplay and graphical finesse. But Fireglow have been careful to give themselves as much of a head start as possible in winning over the gaming masses by including for our collective pleasure a rather excellent plot.

I like it a lot - apparently it's based on an existentialist novel of the same name by a French writer called Albert Camus who I had not previously heard of, but with a bit of research it seems that the game has stayed true to the intricate plot, changing only some names and locations. Basically, you play the part of three separate characters lost in a mysterious world that you have been cast into by the town council, after your innocent experimentation with highly forbidden magic. The three of you aren't the best of friends but, as strangers in a foreign land, you are reluctantly forced to cooperate in your efforts to return home and execute justice on your persecutors. Unfortunately, the execution of this tale of deception is not well done. Still cartoon scenes move things along, made up of simplistically drawn characters and voiced over by what sounds like the developer's janitor at the last minute (take a monotone and completely non-threatening "I will come back and eat your hearts." as an example). It's a real shame that more effort wasn't put into this and although money isn't always readily available to create Hollywood FMV sequences, there is a huge amount of room for improvement in the style and presentation chosen here.

I've never been one for immediately classifying a game into its respective genre; for one thing, it can encourage scepticism and apprehension (mention 'text based adventure' to anybody aside from UNIX users and they're running for the polygonal hills, yet it's unlikely they've ever actually given one a go!), but Stranger just begs to be a bold outcast when it comes to its definition. At heart it's a real-time strategy and a role-playing game, with elements of both showing through in different proportions depending on the task at hand. Think of Blizzard's excellent Diablo hack n' slash combat system and the wonderful visual style of underrated classic RPG Silver, and somewhere in between you get Stranger. It's a decent effort at least to defy convention and works at a certain level to achieve a blend of monster bashing and item collection with party-based gameplay into the bargain, and has qualities to satisfy fans of a range of related games.

You begin your quest for justice in the hideous gnarled form of a mutant creature after being hurled into the portal to the desolate land from which you must escape. You are however told, much to your dismay, that nobody has ever willingly returned from this land and the only way out is through an unstoppable, unspeakable beastie who would make toothpicks out of you in your current state. Also separated from your fellow outcasts, you are alone for now and left to figure out where to go. Luckily there's a tutorial to play through, which gives you the basics of the gameplay.

The first few levels lead you by the hand and around the map with arrows all over the place, so it's pretty impossible to get lost, but the environments are not open-ended enough to actually wander off anywhere anyway, at least for most of the game. This tight level design is in line with the objective-based gameplay, ensuring you don't lose too much direction. Objectives aren't the most original, ranging from killing another small army of inexplicably aggressive insectoid life forms or hiring yet another solider for your party once you have amassed enough crystal. These soldiers can be found loitering around small townsteads and will help you as you slash and stab your way to the next objective.

It's pretty apparent from early on that there's trouble ahead with the control system, particularly the inventory interface, which is often struggled with in RPGs. Combat is just verging on the side of being interesting but did not once truly feel like I was in a fight, my hero just standing there repeating the same animation until whatever he's striking at falls over dead, ready to be looted. The game's currency comes in the form of three different crystals that are found around the lands and carried by most of its inhabitants (including, as I always find strange, the monsters) and transferring amounts of these crystals between yourself and recipients is an awkward and cumbersome task, requiring fiddly sliders and selections. The action can be paused at any time so this isn't too big a deal, although it would have been wise to implement more accessibility. These crystals are also magical; each grants the ability to cast certain spells, either to harm or manipulate the enemy is some way, or to bolster you and your team's strengths of defence. Further to this you can mix various crystals to create new combinations, like cyan crystals for example, which allows you to cast a rather nasty ice shard spell.

One thing I do quite like is the environments. They are very well detailed for a game with such a simple engine (there are no physics or active environments present) and the little buildings and fauna have a wonderful charm. NPCs are rudimentarily animated, but smoothly so, and there are a lot of creatures to hack through, all of which are very interesting designs from your standard 'low experience' bugs to giant spidery monstrosities. There are some very cool boss designs too, which I won't spoil. All in there are over one hundred monster designs and I have to credit Fireglow on this, as that's a lot of beasties to pen down - there's a hell of a lot of work in between conceptual design and the final production of a creature, from visual design and texturing to animation, so credit is due here. The sound is very pleasing to the ear too, with a very good ambient soundtrack keeping the atmosphere up, along with some well-conceived creature snarls and roars.

While I was playing Stranger I had the impression of playing a game a that is a few years old, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing - I was remembering moments from classics I had played in the past that took me through many great evenings of cloak and dagger wand wielding. It's not easy to create a convincing universe and then bring it to life; players demand immersion these days, as RPGs take a lot of effort to get into, but the RTS element here eases you along by keeping you occupied while the RPG elements sink in. It's a great experience when you feel totally involved in what you are doing and the reward is feeling like you have actively changed something within that world. Stranger is nearly too much effort to get this much out of it, although there is charm it is saturated by oversights such as the mediocre cut scenes. When you are attempting to implement two gameplay styles then you'd better be careful that there are no distractions or irritations to the player, or the tentative grip a game has to build upon will be lost. Stranger is still just clutching out with a gauntleted hand.

Scarface: The World Is Yours
Rewriting the ending to a movie just so you can justify a sequel is a tough pill to swallow, especially when you're dealing with an ending as memorable as the one in Scarface. It's likely that some fans of the film will never be able to get over that hump and will despise the game for existing in the first place. But if you can deal with that concept--you'll take control of Montana shortly after the "say hello to my little friend" line and orchestrate his getaway yourself--you'll find a foul-mouthed and bloody adventure that does next to nothing with the characters. In the film, you saw Tony Montana grow from a simple refugee to the king of the coke world. In the game, the shock of losing his empire causes Tony to clean up his act and get off the yayo so he can start dealing again. Then you basically kill everyone who wronged you, all while talking about the need to have balls. The whole experience feels flat and often self-conscious. It's like the makers of the game watched the movie, picked out a few common words that Tony Montana would say (cock-a-roach, balls, f***, chico, and coño), and then set about writing dialogue that uses those words as often as possible.

It might not feel terribly true to the spirit of the film, but as a game, Scarface is functional. You're given the open city of Miami to drive around right off the bat, though you'll be doing business in only one part of the city at a time. You start in Little Havana, and your goal is to take back that part of town so you can deal cocaine unabated by the other dealers that have risen during your three-month absence. You take back the streets by going to war with gangs that have taken up residence in various parts of the neighborhood. These gangs are denoted by a skull on your map, and your task here is to roll up to the thugs, open fire, and not stop shooting until they're all dead. You'll also need to buy businesses in each part of town, mainly so that you can use them as drug fronts, and you won't able to advance the story if you don't. But you can't just waltz in and buy each business right away. Business owners have specific tasks that you must complete before they'll sell. That means you'll have to go on a mission. Some of the missions make perfect sense and fit with something Tony Montana would do, like defending a restaurant from attackers. Another has you guarding a speedboat from a fixed gun position on a helicopter while it tries to find shark fins to make shark-fin soup for a wedding party at another restaurant. The slightly goofy missions conspire to make the whole game feel disjointed and flippant.

In addition to the main process of completing missions and buying front businesses, there's the more open-ended goal of making money and building a reputation. You have a reputation level that increases for a variety of different reasons, including completing missions, and you won't be able to take on some missions unless your reputation is at a certain level. If you need to earn a lot of rep, that might mean you go several hours without progressing the story because you need to earn money to purchase junk for your mansion, which raises your rep and also gives you access to the stupidly named "pimp my mansion" feature.

Sonic Riders

Sonic Riders can occasionally be quite entertaining, but too many of those entertaining moments are overridden by bouts of frustration and weak mechanics.

Like most popular platformer franchises, the Sonic series has dabbled in the racing genre in the past with games like Sonic R for the Saturn. Despite the fact that Sonic's already-speedy nature might seem like a perfect fit for a racing game of some sort, the results of these attempts have been disappointing thus far. Sonic Riders is the latest attempt to get Sonic back on the race track, though this one eschews the typical kart- and foot-racing brands of racing usually found in a racer starring popular platformer heroes. Instead, Riders gives Sonic and pals their very own Back to the Future II-style hoverboards, which they can use to dart and dash around wacky tracks of varying levels of difficulty. Unfortunately, Sonic Riders isn't much better than any of Sega's previous attempts to make Sonic a racing hero, simply because it can't quite keep its diverse and chaotic racing mechanics together in one cohesive package. There are times when you'll find yourself enjoying how blazingly fast the game can go and other times when you'll be frustrated beyond belief by the very same thing. And that's all within a single race.

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is a real-time strategy video game developed and published by Electronic Arts for the Windows, Mac OS X and Xbox 360 platforms, and was released internationally in March 2007[2]. The direct sequel to the 1999 RTS title Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun by Westwood Studios, a now defunct company that was taken over and liquidated by EA in 2003, Tiberium Wars returns the Command & Conquer series to its roots in the Tiberium story arc of the franchise, once again featuring the factions of the Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod, and also introducing a new extraterrestrial faction known as the Scrin. A first expansion pack to Tiberium Wars, titled Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath, was released on March 24, 2008.

Soundtracks
The soundtrack for C&C 3 was composed by Steve Jablonsky and Trevor Morris[23][24]. Frank Klepacki - the composer of all the previous C&C installments with the exception of Command & Conquer: Generals - was contacted by Electronic Arts to compose the soundtrack for Tiberium Wars, but turned the offer down to focus on his career at Petroglyph Games[25].
